As your unconscious brain is controlled by the night,
When darkness unfolds and the moon takes flight,
Bizarre thoughts lurking in the shadows of your mind,
The ones anomalous, unfamiliar, undefined,
Slowly but surely leak through imagination’s stream,
And melt into a soft, unfamiliar dream.
A kaleidoscope of hues form bright swirling flames,
The mischievous mind begins its troublesome games.
A zoo performing in a circus, with acrobat rats,
Tossing their wands in waistcoats and hats,
And all of a sudden you’re zooming through space,
With a goose in a tie holding a leather briefcase.
A waterfall of puddings, a land full of snow,
These ridiculous thoughts make an excellent show!
And when these absurd dancing creatures from a universe unknown,
By your waking mind are once more overthrown,
You slowly arise and leave last night’s dream unsaid,
And wonder what on earth’s going on in your head!
