Far away in a world of magic and enchantment, hidden behind valleys of precious, untouched jewels and near phenomenal mountains laced with silver snow and glittering ice is a magnificent cave.
The cave is protected by a sacred legend of terrible dangers. Twisted wonders, curses of pure evil and haunting spirits lurk in the depths. Rumours relay the horrors that await the souls who are brave enough to venture through the thick green vines that conceal the cave’s darkest secrets.
Intrigued, I decided I would be the one to journey inside and uncover the truth. What I saw was truly unimaginable. The jagged walls were decorated with glowing silver lights, vibrant tropical flowers and glassy icicles hung elegantly from the rocks above. Colour and life danced around the exquisite cave, blooming into pearls and trinkets, gold and silver. Dragons with taut, blood-red skin and glinting blue scales that shimmered like irresistable diamonds soared past freely with stunning feathered wings, fiery orange flames dancing on the tips.
In the heart of the cave lay a pristine, iridescent river, completely still and silent with a waterfall cascading onto the rocks below. There was something eerily beautiful about the place. At once, I dropped my rucksack and dived in. As I swam, I heard a soft, alluring melody emanating from a bright swirling ball of blinding white light under the surface. I slowly swam further down and the light was singing a sweet lullaby. I reached out in disbelief and gently touched it. All at once the soothing song changed to an enraged voice screeching, “You dared to trespass in the cave of magic! Death awaits you!”
Suddenly an indescribable wave of agony seeped into my body like poison and ripped my flesh apart until only my bones and blood were left floating on the surface and I slowly drifted into hell. Never enter the cave of magic if you want to return home alive… may this be my warning to you.
