All humans believe in monsters,
That are truly facinorous and bewitching,
That will pierce their skin and dine on rotting flesh,
Scooped from their victims lying tangled and twitching.
They think the real villains stand out in a crowd,
Like a virulent dragon that breathes out fire,
With nostrils exhaling clouds of toxic smoke,
Driven by murderous desire.
But don’t they know the power I hold?
And the damage I can do?
I unleash waterfalls of bitter, poisonous lies,
That will crush your world in two.
I can slowly drown you in toxic tides,
And make forests erupt into flames,
If you think dragons and wizards are dangerous,
You’d never survive my suicidal games
I’ll teach you to slowly despise your reflection,
For I am disguised in human form,
I’ll slowly feed you with hostile secrets,
That can summon an internal storm
For I am more deadly than fictional monsters,
The real villains aren’t shrieking black birds,
They are invisible killers embedded in society,
And my name is the power of words.
